THE GROG SHOP PRESENTS DOPE MUSIC+GOOD CAUSE!!!!!

Okkkkkk Soooooo 1 day during the fill-in, on my full-set (*S/o to Fantasy Nails!) I got a text. My nails were almost dry...but I didn't wanna risk the chance of me messing them up, by being thirsty to see who was texting me. Yet...my addiction to my phone got the best of me...and  so I opened the text...and mannnnnnnn was I  glad that I did!!!! ADUBB DA GAWD text read something like "I'ma be in your city". I mean normally ...I would yawn and my thoughts would navigate towards something or someone else. Yet ADUBB using so few words...meant a lot!!!! In case you weren't familiar with ADUBB...*I will inform you...he's SO DAMN TRILL!!!! I mean he has been holding Big Sean, FINALLY FAMOUS, and his own damn self down for the longest!!! You know the guy in a crew, that makes alot of noise, but you never hear nothing? Yeah...well....that's far from ADUBB. Since FINALLY FAMOUS started making noise he's done nothing but push and go hard for the team. Slowly as time progressed , I noticed ADUBB kinda, stepping towards the front. He was coming with his own music, his own style, and mos def his own sound. Being the twitter stalker that I am (*yeah...guilty as charged)  I ran across hella crazy B.S 1 day. ADUBB had been in a horrific motorcycle accident!!!! I mean he was almost down for the count!!! Yet when I hit him up to make sure he was going to be alright...ADUBB was his usual self. Still talking sh*t, still pumped for no reason, still yelling FINALLY FAMOUS, and talking about how soon as he was right...he was gonna make sure he wore a helmet next time. ADUBB is a maniac!!!! He's rebellious, wild, and talented...all at the same damn time!!! So I knew him coming to CLEVELAND...meant that he had some fire as* music to share with the city. 
Slowly afterwards I started seeing promo for the show ADUBB was performing . I had to do a double take when I noticed PAPER PAULK was also going to be performing! I had heard alot about this PAPER PAULK dude, STREET DREAMING was being rocked , and I was curious to see for myself exactly what he was about. HUMBLE G THA FIDDLA was also said to be performing! *If ya'll aint know...he's the dopest dude on a string instrument ever!!!!(* Cept for Yo-Yo Ma) UNCLE JUJU was going to share the stage as well so I can honestly say I was ...EXCITED!!! THE DOPE MUSIC + GOOD CAUSE show was being held at 1 of the coolest places for underground music THE GROG SHOP.

When I finally arrived at THE GROG SHOP, there were a few acts doing what can only be described as "a lil bit to much". I macked the bar a lil, and even smirked when some baked dude tried to pass off a fake $50 bill. (*nope he didn't get caught...he took off running)The crowd was just starting to expand. It was difficult to assign "fans" to each individual artist performing. I mean there were sooooooo many different kinds of individuals , and they were all vibing out to each performance. Sometimes when you are at a venue, you can kinda "stereotype" who's to see who. Yet this DOPE MUSIC+GOOD CAUSE seemed to unite all types of fans, and sounds. UNCLE JUJU did his thing. Then HUMBLE G THA FIDDLA showed his as* on his fiddle!!! It never get's old wacthing him perform. His bow hairs were shredding and gently flying in the air, and he captivated the crowd as usual with his street style, and classical hip-hop musical trans. The show was already moving at a smooth pace...kinda like when you ride your bike on new pavement...yeah like that.

 When ADUBB stepped onto the stage I was staring with anticipation, cuz I was excited to see him perform live , knowing how hard he's been grinding. ADUBB was slim, and his speaking voice reminded me of other rappers who's voice doesn't really match their "music voice". Yet ADUBB had the crowd rocking!!!! He slowly started to warm up, he shook his dreds, and he covered the stage. He had the crowd asking "GOT WORK". The crowd embraced him and I was thinking "damn this dude is a champ!". After he got off stage I will admit...I didn't wanna just blow down on him, but it was ADUBB and in despite of all the sweat and all he siad "Come on, let's take these pics"...and since I had just invested in an expensive camera, I looked around the bar and realized no 1 was worthy enough to touch it (*headroll fingasnap). ADUBB looked at me and said "who gon take the pics?", and I turned the camera to face us....and before I could say it...ADUBB answered his own question in my ear by saying ..."ok then... SELFIE!!!

After running to my car to put my "GOT WORK" tee safeley away that  ADUBB had given to me I returned inside THE GROG SHOP to see PAPER PAULK chilling against the rails next to the stage. I gently but firmly wiggled and pushed my way thru the crowd of twerking white chics (*they were everywhere...that damn Miley) and the largest group of bearded men I had ever seen. The dudes were rocking major fits, and dope beards. By this point the crowd had somewhat meshed together. PAPER PAULK hit the stage and a million thoughts began to run thru my mind!!!! First off, he was solid! I mean like he was dark, and tall, and solid. Soon as he stepped to the front of the stage the whole crowd started to move in closer with him. PAPER PAULK was mos def different from any performer I had seen. He was sooooooo smooth, and he was clean as fugggg". Like that classic, mature clean, fresh fly...basically looking like a million bucks. His leather kangol was the perfect accessory to his fit. PAPER PAULK must have performed for 15 mins, and the whole time he was sharing his music, the crowd seemed to soak it all up. I was thinking "damn....I wonder why I have never seen him before". That's when PAPER PAULK decided to take a moment and thank everyone. He also said "yoooo this is my 1st time performing live ever"!!! Yeah...he said it!!!!! I was shocked! I mean....this dude was clearly ready to perform, as if he practiced, or maybe was just born to do it. His stage performance reminded me of Jay-z, *ya know that cool laid-back, strong delivery. Towards the end of his performance I looked around, he was closing out his show and before I knew it, the team of bearded men had jumped on stage, and were surrounding PAPER PAULK with heavy dap, and major love. They seemed not to be "fans" but genuine "friends" that seemed to be perfectly ok with letting their friend have his moment. PAPER PAULK's music was a great introduction to exactly who he is. 

The Grog Shop was blessed with DOPE MUSIC+GOOD CAUSE. Seeing ADUBB DA GAWD perform left me feeling motivated inside. He proved that if you want it, you can mos def go and get it. He showed that you can rock with a team, and still stand out as an individual. UNCLE JUJU got me hip to his music, and I love new music. HUMBLE G THA FIDDLA showed out, and had people" staring in awe like "wow, this young black guy, is a classical genius". PAPER PAULK told a story, about where he came from , how he got to where he is now, and his plans for his musical future, and yes...we learned all of that from his 1st live performance ever!!!!! That's the beautiful thing about music. GOOD CAUSE + GOOD MUSIC can make fans, become fans ...of other fans favorite artists!!! XOXO

Okkkkkkk sooooo  recently I had the privilege ...and yes...I mean it when I say "privilege", to check out SHUICIDE HOLLA at THE KENT STAGE!!! Let's just say...it was F*CKIN AWESOME!!!! SHUICIDE HOLLA has taken great steps into marketing himself, his team, as well as his brand. Nothing he does is ever "small", or half way. Walking into THE KENT STAGE was like walking into a shrunken sized version  of maybe the AGORA, or even APOLLO Theater. (*Ya know....theater seats, balcony rows.) The stage was huge! I had to wonder...if the venue was big enought to hold the crowd as well as SHUICIDE HOLLA. Let's face it....within the past 2 years, if that... his fan following, momentum, nominations, as well as award winning (LYRICIST OF THE YEAR) and sudden fame...are almost as tall as his perfectly styled "box hightop". As I walked through the crowd the 1st words I heard were those from what can only be described as "Security"...saying "ummmmm look...you guys can't smoke that in here...hell we even kicked WALE out for smoking". I had to giggle to myself as I squeezed past hella bodies posted up on the staircase. SHUICIDE HOLLA's voice was heard...before he was even seen. A crowd was gathered outside of a small dressing room door.. You could see that each individual shared the same kind of expression across their faces. It was a look of amazement, maybe mesmerized, focused...but most of all everyone had the look of RESPECT written all over them. SHUICIDE HOLLA was spitting 1 of the dopest freestyles EVER all right before the 2nd installment of his show. Yes you read that right...his performance was broken up into 3 installments!!!! Like some kinda of hip-hop trilogy. I was thinking "mannnnn who does this guy think he is performing 3 times at 1 show?". I had to ask SHUICIDE HOLLA myself and the answer he gave was genuine and sincere,"I mean I noticed that sometimes my fans grow tired from waiting to see me perform, and when they do see me perform, they want me to keep performing, they wanna see more SHU, so I'm really doing this for the fans, you kno...show appreciation". My 1st instinct was to roll my eyes...but SHUICIDE HOLLA was staring straight at me, stone faced like "yeah...this is real".

SHUICIDE HOLLA was focused. He seemed to take pride in the rituals he engaged in before a performance. From spittin fat raps, to calmly sipping hot green tea which he requested instead of liquor (*That I somehow found myself carrying carefully to his dressing room), and even to the small final taps on the sides of his high top, making sure it looked right, I quickly realized that nothing SHUICIDE HOLLA does is "basic". Every movement and moment is mesmerizing. Even the way you see him lacing up his sneakers...is precise, and they are only laces!!! His dressing room had his name neatly centered on the door. There were multiple outfit choices laid out, and from what I can only assume to be ...just a small portion of his ultimate sneakerheads dream collection, and there was SHUICIDE promo everywhere!!!! T's (yeah I got 1...LOVE IT), buttons, and music!!!!

The "S.H.U ALBUM VLOG" is a dope visual into the world of SHUICIDE HOLLA!!!! As soon as you hear "EXTRA PAPER" your already pumped up , adrenalin rushing (*yeah that song does that to ya). You finally get to hear his camp speak out about why they have dedicated themselves to the SHU MOVEMENT (which is understandable...he's AWESOME) Cristo Jeanette, and MZ. CRAZY TEE drizzled sexiness over the stage alongside SHUICIDE HOLLA . THe DUDES IN THE CROWD WERE GOIN NUTZ!!!! The performances were all insane!!! I mean...the TRILOGY!!!

His Freestyle on the "THE S.H.U ALBUM VLOG" can mos def be described as....flawless and intelligent. During the show SHUICIDE HOLLA rapped to ladies in the front row....driving them crazy!!!! (*myself included, but I much more enjoyed "Extra Paper"... I'd rather turn up..then..get all emotional )Performing unreleased tracks only made the performances more valuable to the fans. The fans were able to  rock out with classics , and new Sh*t. FLY LIFE even performed...and he sang his heart out!!!!!! FLY LIFE was smooth and sexy, he was singing like *make you wanna toss ya panties at tha stage singing". The quality of the video is amazing! Ced Lynch/ Swiv31 did an superb job making 1 event seem like a lil mini behind the scenes movie. Even after the show SHUICIDE HOLLA took pics with all of his fans. I'm talking about flick after flick after flick. "THE S.H.U ALBUM VLOG" captures the movement, the feeling, admiration, and talent that you see and feel... when you hear or see SHUICIDE HOLLA. With his next album about to be released soon, "THE S.H.U ALBUM VLOG" should hopefully be able to hold you over til it happens. CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO!!!!! SHUICIDE...HOLLA!!! XOXO

"A DAY IN THE LIFE WITH SUBGRIME" AKA BOBBY BOOSHAY! THE NEXT DOPE DJ!!!

Okkkkkkkk Soooooooo I was running late 1 night to a show that I was hosting at the infamous PHANTASY nightclub on the westside. Already for-seeing the future (slippery wet floors) I slowly climbed the infinite flight of stairs in my VANS and finally reached the top. Most of the artists had already been checked in. Full off the herbal refreshment I had embarked upon earlier, and satisfied from the mexican pizza I smashed (*s/o to taco bell...no beans) I was leaning along the ledge...listening to KICKAGIRL go over everything that was suppose to happen. There was alot of hustle and bustle and I was only half listening. Things seemed somewhat out of order and a tad bit chaotic. I was thinking to myself "whoa...which way is up right now?". Then suddenly I saw the tallest , skinnest white guy ever rush up to the front and literally kinda wiggled the set list from out of 6 hands that were holding on to it in confusion. My 1st instinct was to snatch the list back....but as I looked up at the person who had the list in their hands I relaxed...and eased back into my leaned position. The white guy was so assertive and speedy. I said "ummmm sooooo who are you?" He looked at me like "uhhh you don't know...I'm BOBBY BOOSHAY".

I had to blink about 3 times because the 1st thing that came to my mind was "Waterboy?" Yet this guy seemed far from "delayed". I mean just from taking over the set list he seemed to kinda promote himself to "leader". BOBBY BOOSHAY...when he said his name I noticed nothing but a mouth full of wire. He wears braces..and he was slim...but overlooking that...he was dressed in some of the dopest ILTHY gear ever!!!*You know how when you meet someone and you can just tell that have some kinda "swag" (*oopsy sorry for using that word again). I quietly started to size up BOBBY BOOSHAY He was tall enough to be able to talk over myself, KICKAGIRL and everyone else that was trying to put together a game plan. He grabbed the list and automatically took a pen and started to scratch off who was checked in, on their way, not coming, he rearranged artists and then just walked away. I was thinking...(ok then ...*headroll finga snap.)

During the show BOBBY BOOSHAY went above and beyond the expected "DJ GET THE CROWD PUMPED" set. BOBBY BOOSHAY'S youth is refreshing! He's mos def not afraid to play all new music! I mean looking at him you would expect maybe something different. Yet BOBBY BOOSHAY went from Cudi, to King Chip, to MGK, Ray Jr, Chief Keef,and I could have sworn he played TEZO n KEN BALL "DINNER DATE"He was all over the music map and the crowd loved it!!!! It wasn't unitl he played WRECKIN SQUADD "ONLY" that I sat up and realized....BOBBY BOOSHAY...is the next dope DJ!!!! I mean a lot Dj's play Cleveland music but he found a way to really share it, and get all types of people to feel the energy. 

BOBBY BOOSHAY 's "turn up" is unreal!!!! I mean he makes you wanna dance, bob ya head, and just get crazy!!!! During his set I offered a drink...he politely turned it down and said "naw I'm not old enough yet"!!!! NOT OLD ENOUGH ....mannnnnnn I was shocked!!! I mean yeah the braces sent me back a few years...but could it be that this guy, that attempted to set everything in order, get the show running, make sure everyone was knowing where in what to do...was barely legal? 

BOBBY BOOSHAY didnt stop there!!! DJ BALL was starting to set up his tables directly across the stage. Now DJ Ball is 1 of theeeee BEST DJ's in CLEVELAND. I myself was looking a lil...curious to see what was about to happen. BOBBY BOOSHAY was spinning during a set change...and then as if to test his skills...DJ BALL slowly started to kinda spin a lil himself. I stood next to BOBBY BOOSHAY ...looking at him like "damnnn I think Ball is trying to go". BOBBY BOOSHAY watched from across the stage at 1st like "ummmm wtf is going on?"I gave him a lil nudge and said "keep going!!!!" Just like he started to goin in, and for like 5 mins which seemed like an eternity while on a stage...BOBBY BOOSHAY and DJ BALL battled back and forth! In the end... DJ BALL took over....but BOBBY BOOSHAY received a head nod...which might as well been some kinda trophy. *It was insane!!!!

It was my 1st time meeting him, and I felt proud to be standing next to him.  He was excited, and just pumped to be there!!!!! His energy was contagious and I found it admirable that this young kid would even have the kahunas to go against DJ BALL!!! BOBBY BOOSHAY since then  has been the official DJ for hella college parties, and shows!!!!! He's interactive with his crowd, he's young in the game and he's able to play pretty much whatever he wants without all the politics being involved. Remember what music used to sound like when you first started to love it....remember when music was FUN!!!!!!!! BOBBY BOOSHAY aka SUBGRIME is ready for the takeover!!!! Now I invite you to spend a day in the life with him!!!

Okkkkkkk Soooooo VEENO ft ZUP " BACK TO CLEVELAND" is soooooooo REFRESHING!!!!! (*ya know...like when you finally get a glass of super cold water, or blue moon on draft...yes that damn refreshing) It's got an uptempo beat, mixed with what can only be described as a country, cool, laid back , chillin, crusing...kinda chorus!!!! There are no gimmicks or flashy camera editing craming the videos style. It's pure unfiltered  CLEVELAND!!!!! You gotta love VEENO. His charismatic , genuine appreciation for hip-hop, CLEVELAND and his supporters is sincere."BACK TO CLEVELAND" highlights all the awesomely awesome (*had 2 say it twice) landmarks throughout the city! GENIUS FILMS DID A DOPE A*S JOB WITH THIS 1!!!!From downtown to the ROC BAR, the LAKE...and back round again, it's a fun trip to take while watching "BACK TO CLEVELAND"! ZUP makes a cameo...which is INSANE!!!!! ZUP swags his way in ....chilling on hella luggage with CLEVELAND behind him!!! With VEENO stating the truth "That Jameson and Hennessey Im running for that sink again"...is comical yet TRUE (S/0 to W.41 Side). VEENO and ZUP leave us with a cool, catchy song to close out summer with!!!! If you have ever left CLEVELAND...after hearing VEENO and ZUP ...you will wish you were headed "BACK TO CLEVELAND" !!! XOXO

Maaaaaannnnnn YOUNG SHANK ...has lost his muth-fuc*ing mind!!!!! Guess what!!!!!  I ain't even mad at him!!! YOUNG SHANK has just dropped some new music I wasn't as excited as I usually am. I mean honestly...I feel like YOUNG SHANK has been playing "nice" for a long time. I don't like to get involved in all the "politics" and "cliques" in this CLEVELAND music industry. Yet I have never been 1 to hold my tounge. Don't get me wrong... I loveeeee YOUNG SHANK rappin bout tha ladies, whips, and The Valley. Even when I met him awhile back....he kinda seemed...like he had something to get off his chest. I was thinking ..."is SHANK about to play nice...or is he gonna really finally tell us how he really feels". Come on let's face it...CLEVELAND is actually pretty small. Music completes a full circle in the city. Dudes will gossip almost worst than b*tchez. CARTIER CASA has a certain finesse about himself. He's mos def able to destroy you with his lyrics, all while wearing $800 loafers with no socks!!! Making you feel some type way. Not only did he provide the hook, but it's dope to hear him spitting what he knows. YOUNG SHANK and CARTIER CASA just made the realist song so far this SUMMER!!! Maybe I feel this way cuz I do have my ear to the streets a lil...and it's always better to hear whatever is being said...straight from the horses mouth. I can't wait to be in the middle of tha club and hear "REAL N*GGAS DON'T DIE"!!!! (*yeah it'll get serious TURN THA F*CK UP!!!) It's gonna be hella song lyric tweets off "REAL N*GGAS DON'T DIE"!!!! Okkkkk Soooooo this is the type of show that gets me friggin EXCITED!!!!!! I'm talkin about, fresh fit, fresh sneakers (*haven't decided if I wanna flex my bawd-dayyy in heels yet), yeah...you know... go allll out!!!!! I've been waiting 4-EVA...yeah I said it...4-EVA to see ADUBB DA GAWD in concert!!!! Paper Paulk is gonna be dope too!!!! I'm stoked cuz ADUBB has been putiin in major work.I'm talkin about HELLA WORK, and even after a major motorcycle accident...he's back on his music sh*t. I've sat back and watched him root and go hard for other people in his camp, so I'm mos def ready to see what he is all about on the solo side. I always love the GROG SHOP, so it should be an awesome time! Yeah it falls on a "weekday"...but..summer is almost over...so I'ma tell my boss the truth if I'm late the next day. "Ummmmmm there was a dope show on coventry, I went hard last night...it was worth it!!!XOXO"

Okkkkk Sooooooo....I guess we are gonna try this whole GUCCI event again!!!!! Yes...just like everyone else...last time I was bummed out about certain circumstances that left CLEVELAND "GUCCILESS". Don't worry tho!!!!! I have a strong confirmation from my outside resources, that GUCCI will mos def be here in CLEVELAND at the AGORA!!!!!! The AGORA is HUGE!!!!! Soooo this should be EPIC!!!!
