With that being said...Dj SWERVE did a spectacular job at throwing the event SUMMER ROC at ROC BAR. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw my ticket for the first time. I mean there were familiar names on the ticket...and then there were names of artists I had never heard of. Dj SWERVE managed to pull off something that I haven't seen in Fo-EVA*head roll finga snap! Dj SWERVEsuccessfully gathered an eclectic mix of artists fromCleveland, Mentor, all over Ohio and surrounding states and cities. There were artists that literally came from PA! When I first walked into ROC BAR it was my 1st time ever being there. It looked like a Tiki Bar. One of the first things I noticed was that there were white people,black people, old people,young people,punk rockers,hipsters,hip hop heads,ragers....damn near any and every kind of person you could think of was inside the bar. Of course it was similar to H.S. Ya know....everyone kinda hanging out in their own "groups" or "clicks". As soon as the performances started tho...everyone seemed to mesh together. Of course people were kinda looking around, not really nervous like....but more "curious" like. I can't speak on anyone else's behalf...but some music I had never heard before, but Dj SWERVE managed to make the whole crowd feel comfortable...united as 1. By the time the show was coming to a close...everyone..that seemed "different", "unusual", or out of their element...was incredibly jumping together, laughing, raging, dancing, and bobbing their heads to all the different music. Dj SWERVE wasn't just a "Dj" that day. He was a host, dj, hype man, and director. I had 1 of the BEST TIMES of my summer that day at SUMMER ROC. I felt like I was at a festival of some sort (minus the festival food...oh gawd I love festival food)Dj SWERVE isn't like some dj's. You know the dj's that scream all thru the artists set, or attempt to "steal the show" themselves. Dj SWERVEhonestly played the back, he pumped out the music, he made sure all the artists were comfortable, lighting was great, crowd was amped, and he seemed to keep his cool throughout the whole show. It was awesome to see so many different acts perform back to back. The shows line-up was perfect. Sometimes when you put similar acts back to back...the crowd becomes bored. Yet Dj SWERVE made sure the line-up was mixed up. There was hip-hop, rock, jamaican music, live band sets etc. It made you want to stick around and see who and what was about to happen next.The ROC BAR was a perfect venue for SUMMER ROC. With it's tiki feel and outdoor patio access it made the experience that more comfortable. A lot of times people will randomly throw shows together, with no substance or quality. Dj SWERVE made sure to dot his I's and cross his T's. With t's and mix tapes being sold, it wasn't like "buy me buy me"...it was more like "oohhh I need to cop that, cuz... I love this experience".
I love beautiful things, and beautiful people. Dj SWERVE had one of the most beautiful events that day for SUMMER ROC. I love seeing so many different walks of life enjoying themselves together. That's how music should be. After some of the performances, I witnessed people exchanging numbers,twitter names, emails, mix tapesetc. Not only was it a concert, it was an amazing networking event as well. Dj SWERVE isn't' the type of guy that boasts or brags. He is very humble and I can tell that he honestly does what he does...for the love of music. OMG!!!! I was super shocked when I first heard "The HARDEST PART" by PHAZE JACKSON. I really don't know where to start...as soon as the beat drops, you automatically realize that this isn't your basic"rap song"(Produced byDJ CONES, andRecorded and Mixed by Adam Korbesmeyer).The piano playing is so freaking BEAUTIFUL. I love how the beat is simple, yet beautifully complicated all at the same time. It's like you can hear and visualize someones fingers dancing all along the piano. All the way from one end to the other end of the piano!!! Once you settle into the beat, you realize that there is a small clap...like 1 individual is sitting next to you, right next to you...clapping along to the song. Not in an annoying way...but in a way that makes you feel like you are not alone while listening to "THE HARDEST PART". Okkkkkkk...soooooooo I don't usually get excited about new Dj's and their mixtapes. I mean come on....everybody and they mama...think they are a "Dj" now. So sometimes I get a headache when I hear "such n such is dj'n at such n such club" etc. Unless you are already part of an elite circle...it's hard as an independent dj to separate themselves from all the "other" dj's. DjAR has managed to take control of his talent, and is career with the strength of a hundred men. From self promoting, mixing, and everything else it takes to be at the top...DjAR has managed to make a name for himself. I can't stress this enough....but Cleveland...Cleveland is a hard town to crack. To try an accomplish anything on your own seems at times far fetched...but when you have the confidence and talent to back you up like DjAr...losing will never be an option. A local favorite dj throughout East Cleveland(*yeah more than likely DjAR is spinning music at all the local bars..even downtown at times)DjAR is making sure everyone has the best time ever while he's spinning his music. Q.Has your style been the same? A.NO! I mean when I first started 'rapping", I was really young, and I would rap just to rap. My songs didn't really have a meaning, or any depth to them...I was just rhyming words together. Now I'm more seasoned...as far as my lyrics, and stage performance. Now my music is like a weapon with direction. I aim and shoot.
Q.When did your style change? A.Bout 3 years ago...after signing with Visible Lyrics. I mean before I actually signed I went thru like a 6 month "Artist Development " bootcamp.
Q.What is "ARTIST DEVELOPMENT"? A.It's where you learn about yourself. You dig deep and find out what kind of artist you are and what kind of artist you are trying to become. I literally cut off my hair, I had braids and cut em off.

Q.How did you get the name "The Most Popular Lame"? A.I wasn't always the"coolest" kid in school. I wasn't always in the flyest clothes...my mom worked all the time...but I still had basic plain clothes...nothing to brag about. People made fun of me. Even now...I make great music...and everyone know's of me. Yet they don't "KNOW" me.
Q.Is this how you became a part of the "anti-bullying" campaign? A. Yes! I was watching the news and they had a story about bullying. So my label Visible Lyrics hooked me up with the campaign and I've been to dozens of schools where I have performed and discussed anti-bullying.
Q.If you are well known throughout the industry, why do you find it difficult for people to collab with you or give you the credit you feel you deserve? A.The music industry is a very competitive industry. I really don't want to sound cocky...but I think most people realize I'm a threat...lyrical wise. Let's get 1 thing straight....when I ask to be on a song, or anything like that...I'm not tryna take over the song...nor am I tryna outshine that artist. I'm just wanna enhance the song a lil lol.

Crazy8TheGreatand I sat for a lil longer. I realized he is much different in person than he is on stage. Off stage he is quiet, withdrawn a lil. You can tell that he has a chip on his shoulder. Probably from the industry and all of the b.s that comes with it. Crazy8TheGreatjust wants to make music. He still believes that success is not a popularity contest. You can tell that he's not ready to give up just yet. He is actually just getting started. I can say that when I saw him perform for the first time at the ROC bar I was impressed. I first fell in LOVE with WYE OAK, when I saw them perform on Last Call with Carson Daly. It was one of the most beautiful live performances I had ever seen!!!! At times it's difficult to understand what this chic is saying....but if you relax, and let your mind go...you can hear her. Her voice is soft...captivating, and the drummer...is absolutely AMAZING! You would think that from the sound of the music...it's a huge gigantic band. But it's not!!! The band WYE OAK...literally consists of just 2 people. What you see is what you get. The drummer has found a way to play drums,keyboard, chimes, and damn near everything else...with just two hands!!!!! It's intoxicating to watch the drummer do so many things at *tha same damn time. The chic is sooo beautiful. She's far from you average"big booty black girl", or "bleached hair, big boobs, lip synching pop star".her style is classic and cool....like she only shops at American Apparel, or thrift stores. What's most beautiful about this chic....is that she has the fingers of an angel on the electric guitar. Watching her get into her zone as she plays for some reason makes me feel aroused and warm inside. To witness an individual get lost in their talent get's me excited. I am a FAN of Ray Bans! I've always been a huge fan! Even when I was younger...I used to worship my older cousins Ray Bans. As I got older...I found myself wanting a pair of Ray Bans...almost more than a car, or J's. You can't deny the classic, simple yet futuristic style of these legendary glasses. Ray Bans have been around...literally for generations. It would be almost impossible for these classic frames to ever become prehistoric.
